I just saw a Red Orb!

We just got back from dinner and a movie about an hour and a half ago. I cleaned up a bit, then laid down in bed for a short nap. When I awoke at approximately 8:30pm, it was dusk. Everything in the room was perfectly clear and colorful. I saw a red orb floating right next to the corner of my desk, about three feet from my head. It was very much like what Becca describes about her black orb. The main "body" of it was about one inch in diameter. The "legs" were about two inches long each (making it about five inches in diameter total). I would say there were at least a dozen of these legs/spokes, maybe two dozen. The color was a rich, bright or even shiny red.

When I awoke, I was looking slightly off to the right of it. I did a mental "gasp" and my eyes snapped right to it. When I looked right at it, it didn't move at all from its position, but it appearred to be spinning or undulating. About one second after my eyes were directly facing it, it *faded away.* It didn't get smaller or seem to move in any direction. It simply faded, as if transforming into an invisible state. That took only about one to two seconds. So I got to look right at it for a total of about two to three seconds, one of which was in its "solid" state.

After that, I laid there amazed, and thought, "Did that really just happen? Did I really just experience something that completely out of the ordinary? Was that some dream fragment that somehow stayed with me as I was awakening?" When I was waking, everything in the room looked completely crisp and "normal" except for that one thing. When I looked right at it, I could see it perfectly clearly. I was conscious. I haven't seen any kind of hallucinations while waking up (nor any other time) ever, to my knowledge. I hadn't thought about Becca's black orb any time recently.

Becca just now walked into the room and read this up to the sentence just before this one. She pointed out that it is very windy and "electric" outside right now, though it was calm when I woke up. A storm is moving in. I'm adding that note just in case it might be meaningful.

My initial reaction was excitement at seeing something so unusual, like the feeling of making a discovery or having an epiphany. I didn't feel like I was in any danger. I felt safe and interested.
