Are Bathrooms the New Social Hangouts?

So this is the second night in a row that I dreamed about sharing a bathroom with a girl and it creating a social situation. I find this amusing and interesting. I've never had this particular kind of dream before, and there haven't been any situations like this in my waking life any time recently.

In this dream, I was a high-school student in senior year. I was in the cafeteria, and decided to go to the bathroom. This cute girl I barely knew came into the bathroom right behind me. I turned around and smiled at her. I'm sure I had a somewhat surprised, questioning look on my face at first, but then I let her know with a sly smile and a quick glance up and down her that I was up for something interesting if that was why she followed me in here. She looked embarrassed, then went around the corner to a toilet about 20 feet from where I was, though still in the same bathroom.

This all seemed a little strange to me, so I walked over there and took a peek around the corner. Three of her friends were sitting at a table near the window (yes, in the bathroom) eating lunch and chatting. They saw me look around the corner just as the girl was about to pull down her pants. One of the girls at the table said, “He must like you. He's trying to see something.” She didn't think I could hear her.

These girls were all close friends, in that odd social group of “girls who are smarter than average, somewhat cute but not quite pretty, and a bit nerdy.” (These tended to be the girls I liked best in high school). I went back to my urinal, finished, and left. Later, as I was leaving school, I was walking down a long paved path through the grass from school to the subdivisions.

I felt like running, and I almost burst into a run when I saw someone I knew among the stream of students leaving school. It was an old friend of mine, Ric. He was taller and a little healthier-looking than I remembered him, and carrying a guitar slung over his shoulder. He was hanging out with a couple of other very big guys. They (mostly Ric) were laughing about all of the naive girls they've been having their way with. I said hi and moved on.

I came to an area where a lot of people hung out after school. I saw the group of girls from the bathroom, along with five more of their friends, all girls. We were all barely familiar with each other. I thought about it for a moment, then went over to them. As I walked up, the girl I was interested in was talking, but she quieted and they all just looked at me for a moment like, “What are you doing here?” I said, “That was a bizarre situation in the bathroom today, wasn't it?” A couple of them semi-smiled and nodded and one of them mumbled, “Yeah.” I sat down and said, “That's all I wanted to say about that,” laughed, then said to the girl who was talking, “I didn't mean to interrupt you. Please go on.”

They all seemed slightly off-put by my sudden entrance, but they accepted my presence well enough, and continued talking. Then the sun came out from behind the clouds and got very bright. They all covered their eyes, turned their heads away from the sun, and kind of huddled together, as if it were far worse than it was. I had a brief thought, “Are they vampires or something?” I looked at all of their faces closely as I huddled down with them, mostly to fit in, but also because, hey, it's a bunch of cute girls. I couldn't tell for sure, but there did seem to be something magical about them. I noticed that they were all focusing, then suddenly there was a big building between us and the sun. I said, “Wow, that's very impressive.” Then my cat woke me up.
