The Logical Song - Supertramp

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,
oh joyfully, oh playfully watching me.

But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible,
logical, oh responsible, practical.
And then they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep,
the questions run too deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
please tell me who I am

I said now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!
Oh Take it take it yeah!

But at night, when all the world's asleep,
the questions run so deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
please tell me who I am,
Who I am
Who I am
Who I am

Who knows who's so logical.

My Favorite Poem

The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Ghost Dream

I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I woke up in my bed and felt like someone was in the room with me. I looked at the bedroom door which in the dream had a chain lock on it and I saw the chain move and lock the door. I tried to scream for Jay, but no sound came out. While I kept trying to scream or make any kind of sound to get Jay's attention, the furniture in my room started moving toward me. Finally Jay opened the door and came in. We ran out together and ran down the hall to the living room and he told me the furniture in the living room was moving too. When we got there, I turned around and looked back toward my bedroom. I saw a big man-shaped figure in my doorway that looked like it was wrapped in tan-colored bandages like a mummy. It came toward us down the hall. I yelled to Jay to get one of our cell phones and use it to videotape what was happening. The mummy-ghost reached the living room and attacked me. It threw me around the room and felt completely solid when I pushed back at it. I struggled with it over to the front door and managed to throw it out the apartment door and down the stairs. It was daylight outside. When it hit the stairs, it lost it's shape...as if the ghost had disappeared from inside the bandages and left the bandages behind. When I went back in, there were about 5 more ghosts that had materialized inside. I told Jay that we needed to throw them down the stairs outside. I fought with all of them and threw them all outside one by one.

One of my favorite Halloween costumes that I've worn in recent years is that of one of those Flying Monkey minions of the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz.

Fable

in

I started playing Fable on Xbox last weekend, and I'm hooked! I'm not a big game player in general, and I almost never play video games, but when a friend of mine told me how much she loves Fable and then loaned me her copy, I had to give it a shot. The graphics are nice, the characters are cute, and the controls are relatively simple. I can't wait to see what happens next! Smile

Unwritten

Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can now find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way no no

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can now find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can now find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open

The Middle - Jimmy Eat World

The Middle - Jimmy Eat World

Hey,
Don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head to feel left out,
Or looked down on.
Just try your best,
Try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves
When you're away.

[Chorus]
It just takes some time,
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything, everything will be just fine,
Everything, everything will be alright. (alright)

Hey,
You know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, (on your own)
So don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
